March 22 - May 1, 2012 in Stella Art Foundation at Skatyatinsky, 7 Andrei Filippov Exhibition "blackouts" that runs in the second part project "Triptych," which Creative association "Cupid" shows in the space of the Fund (the first part of the project was held in the autumn-winter 2009). Each part of this triptych exhibition includes both group and solo exhibition of one of its members. This time - Andrei Filippov. For his exhibition, he has created a diverse amount of products, among them the central place occupied by electro-dynamic objects - folding and deploying the fan with a picture of heaven. For each of the fans is a luminous disk with the image of the angel's hand holding a scroll: drive opens look at the very moment when the fan starts to take shape. The entire installation as a whole was named artist of "rolling blackouts".

In a technical sense, the term "rolling blackouts" means the complete or partial restriction regime in electricity consumption. But it is clear that this value Filippov - just a semantic trigger, triggering a chain of metaphors. To limit the author-off primarily associated with the end of the world in its Judeo-Christian version, or rather, one of the events of the global finals, when "the heaven, coiling like a scroll" (Revelation. 6:14) or, according to the Book the prophet Isaiah (34:4), when "the heavens rolled together as a scroll." The Biblical comparison with a scroll of heaven turns into the identity of the artist and the rollout of the sky, or more precisely, changing the scroll on the fan, the book serves as a last-picture heaven. So the picture book, roll, and a fan of Filippov - variants of one form, the origin of which is to be found in Europe and in the east, particularly in the Chinese tradition. Scroll fan and a screen of old there were, and to write texts (in fact, have different formats of the book), and as a basis for a painting that looks more than natural, as the writing and image in a culture grown from a common root, and therefore easily combined. If, moreover, remember that "kitayschina" has always been important for the Moscow conceptualist, and they, to some extent, associated themselves with scientists starokitayskimi writers, artists, then the logic of "rolling blackouts" becomes even clearer.

Andrei Filippov belongs to the circle of authors Moscow conceptual school of art which are of interest to the visual and textual sign paradoxically combined with a solution of formal problems. The artist was born in 1959 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In 1976-1981 he studied at the Moscow Art Theater School at the Faculty of staging. Painting began in 1982. In 1982-1984 was a regular exhibitor and participant stocks galleries APT ART (Moscow). In 1987 became a member of "Club of the avant-garde" (Claudia).
