Artist Norman Rockwell (Norman Percevel Rockwell) was born in 1894 in New York the United States. At fourteen he entered the New York School of Art, and two years later moved to the National Academy of Arts. By Rockwell success came early. His first order (four Christmas cards), he painted in the age of fifteen. While still a teenager, he was hired by a leading artist in the official publication of Boy Scouts of America «Boys' Life». In twenty-one artist established his own studio, carrying out orders «Life», «Literary Digest» and other publications. A year later, Rockwell created his first magazine cover for the edition of «The Saturday Evening Post», speaking about it as the finest mirror of American life. For four decades, the artist illustrated the cover of the magazine 321. In 1953, Rockwell and his family moved to Stockbridge, Mass., where he continued to work tirelessly, creating numerous illustrations, posters, advertising works. In the early seventies, Rockwell has entrusted his work Historical Society «Old Corner House Stockbridge», which later became museum , named after him. In 1970 the artist received honorary awards: the Presidential Medal of Freedom for a bright display of American life. He died an illustrator in 1978, leaving us a legacy of his remarkable work.

In 1960, thanks to a long and hard work, in which Rockwell assisted by his son Thomas, the artist has published an autobiographical book titled «My Adventures as an Illustrator». Graced the cover of the book is one of the most famous works of Rockwell - Triple Self-Portrait, depicting him at work.

PS: Many have written about the work of this great artist. But, unfortunately, the images were mainly small format. I recently found a Norman Rockwell illustration in high resolution and could not resist - made another record. I think that the good does not happen much. Is not it ?))
