My favorite Carlos Khachatryan

Special property of Carlos Khachatryan - he knows how to draw a vacuum. For many spectators at some of his paintings as if nothing else - the field, sky, road or mountain. Nobody and nothing more. This is not the painting, which strikes the eye. Personally, I am more than a year looking at hanging in a gallery painting "View from my window, yet ripe for purchase. A few years - and every year I find in it something new. Opens depth of empty space. This and other pictures shown on this page can not be estimated by low-resolution photos. Khachatryan draws every square decimeter and centimeter. Some of his paintings (those that are brighter) can be cut into squares and increase, thus receiving a picture of a modern abstract style. We have so carefully almost no one draws - a modern artist does not spend time on many days to work on one canvas. Because Khachatryan have so little work - only up to a dozen different operations in a year comes from his pen. But this is an artist with whom I have never seen a completely flops work. Even his paintings are executed on average a decent level, to which many can only dream of.
Submitted pictures 2001-2009gg.
Two of them are asymmetrical diptych "Apple God. I believe that the right side of the diptych is not successful, and the artist agrees with this opinion. Now we expose the left side as a separate picture.
Think the strong works:
1) The view from my window, 2004
7) Loneliness, 2007
8) Noon, 2000
9) Apple God, the left part, 2007

Alas, no. Then the artist lived and worked in Yerevan and sold almost everything done. Few pictures he took to Canada in the early 21 century, and often sell it cheaply to wholesalers. Very few have returned to Russia - two or three works. But this is the beginning of 2000's. Now he paints very slowly.Posted 28-07-2009 at 16:30 by Черномашенцев Владимир
