Here is a selection of works of one of the most interesting in my opinion Russian artists of the second half of the twentieth century. Lyrics taken from the catalog of the personal exhibition of Turkey, organized in the State Tretyakov Gallery in 2003, and the image - of the three in my catalogs.

Timeline

Born August 30, 1928 in Voronezh
1942-44 - evacuation. He did watercolors work. Still lifes, portraits from life, composition.
1944 - return to Voronezh. Introducing the artist AP Vasilyev. His influence has been fundamental.
1946 - adopted in the Penza Art College named. Savitsky.
1947 - Admitted to the Moscow Municipal College of Art. Teachers MS Perutsky, MT Khazanov (graduated in 1950)
1948 - met in VG Weisberg
1951-52 - met with Yu Zlotnikov and later (not earlier than 1956) with B. Slepyanom.
1953-54 - this time include familiarity with contemporary Western art: Mondrian, Pollock and other artists. Artists of Russian avant-garde, I knew then much smaller. By this time include my first abstract works (in 1953 he entered, and in 1959 graduated from Moscow Polygraphic Institute).

1959 - exhibition of abstract works on Kvartin composer Andrew Volkonskogo. Together with Oleg Prokofiev.
1962-63 - Exhibition at the apartment Alexei Kamensky (Kamensky, Zlotnikov, Kupryashin). Then I became close friends with Michael Roginsky. Kamensky and Roginskii was influenced.
1963-64 - made the first figurative works in gouache. "Bumpers" and other pieces of the car. Then figure: "A man in a raincoat", "Girl in Pink." Later, multi-figured compositions large and meaningful work: "The door Roginsky", "Phone", "plate". Simultaneously, I continued to do abstract work (starts rayuotat in Remote People's University of Culture).
By the beginning of the 70's. include work-"sruktury. Also continued to be acquainted with modern European and American art (for reproduction): Jasper Johns, Rauschenberg and other artists.
In 1973 he read a book by Camilla Gray on the Russian Avant-garde. First came a holistic view of him. It was a milestone.
1974-75 - Work on the objects.
From 1975 to 1983 did not work because of illness.
In 1983 he began working again. It was an abstract graphics small.
And later, in 1988-89. - Non-figurative reliefs and spatial structure of the paper.
Died Nov. 1, 1997 in Moscow.

Autobiography of a third person

Boris Z. Turkish [one of the most interesting] - interesting Moscow artist 60's - 70-ies.
His independent work began in the 50 years - the time updates: Soviet Artists to discover the present.
Sometimes it was "well-forgotten old". "Modernity" was provided to the age of 50 and more years ... But there was an idea that particularly attracted leading artists - the idea of abstraction. It seemed [that abstraction - a natural goal of all scenic searches] that its language is the true language zhiyopisi ... Boris Turektsy was among those who first began to try to select the words of this new language. Has a large series of graphic works executed in black ink, the test of time (of about 30 years) had not violated their freshness.
