According to the tenor Konstantin Pluzhnikov, this picture came to him eight years ago, he bought it, along with several other works in antiquarian, who sold the their belongings before going abroad.

The artist and copyist of famous works of Mikhail Lermontov, Boris Semenov, meticulously examining the find, delivered its verdict:
- The slides in the transfer of water, stone and air characteristic work of Lermontov. They are written in golden-brown, as in other paintings.
Judging by the date, the author found fabric was only 23 years old.
- In this work is viewed youthful amateurism, it is not a masterpiece, hardly anyone in those years would have thought to work by Lermontov. By the way, depicted on the canvas girl bears a striking resemblance Varenka Lopukhin, which was in love with a young Lermontov.
While the discovery is still in the flat tenor Konstantin Pluzhnikov. But the artist Boris Semenov already made a copy. And yesterday at a charity soiree "The Passion of Lermontov's" dedicated to 195 anniversary of the poet, the guests could see a copy of all 15 works by Mikhail Lermontov.
- The painting must be sent to a thorough examination, - says Alexander Knyazev. - We are so sure that it was painted by the poet, but if experts confirmed the authenticity, its place in the Pushkin House, and not in the flat tenor Pluzhnikov.
By the way, according to lermontoveda Knyazev, 15-Scene Mikhail Lermontov in any sources not mentioned. The author finds called it "The scene at the waterfall."
