Francisco de Zurbaran

Thanks to the advice of LCR to draw attention to the Prado museum to the works by Zurbaran, I was not just fun, and culture shock. I do not understand why his rooms are away from the traditional tourist routes and even a very good guide (I can tell) not included it in the viewer. Apparently only the huge number of masterpieces (even the catalog is called - 100 masterpieces of the Prado) and a very tight time limit.
Zurbaran completely shocked. And skill, and this despite the fact that left behind the masterpieces of Van der Weyden and Dyurrera, entire rooms Bosch, Velazquez and Goya, and unusual style is so modern that it is shocking.
It is a pity that in his native city, Seville go without risk to die was not (45C in the shade!).

In 1614 he studied at the studio well-known painter Pedro de Villanueva, the author of numerous religious compositions. Three years later, Zurbaran was already an independent master, and began to carry out orders of churches and monasteries. The artist did not like big cities, and even Sevilla seemed too noisy. He preferred to work in the surrounding monasteries. In the 50's of the XVII century Zurbaran no longer enjoys the success that followed him throughout life, his work began to seem archaic contemporaries.
