Staff RRP recognized the work of a pupil of Rembrandt's painting Govert Flink. However, after extensive restoration and research "Portrait of Pastor Svalmiusa" sponsored by the private sponsor, the museum was able to prove ownership of paintings Rembrandt himself. In particular, the examination found that the picture painted on canvas from the same roll, for which tissue was taken for the two undisputed works by Rembrandt, held in St. Petersburg and Frankfurt.
Rembrandt Research Project has included stored in Antwerp portrait in its list of originals by Rembrandt, now consisting of 310 works.
