Until 16 August in the Gallery VOLGA art (Big Gnezdnikovsky lane 10), the last exhibition of paintings by Igor Litvinov "Budetlyanskaya Elegy" (see the announcement here:
http://artinvestment.ru/news/exhibit...722_volga.html). Now the artist works in Israel, but was born (b. 1962) and grew up in the Belarusian Vitebsk - in the city whose name is associated with the names of Kazimir Malevich, Marc Chagall, Yehuda Pen. And worked there Falk, Dobuzhinsky, Tatlin ... At this point, as they say, when in Rome do as the Romans do. Not surprisingly, the majority of work in "Budetlyanskoy Elegies" - a declaration of love to Malevich. Recognition unhidden and the deliberate use of recognizable images. For all pictures Litvinov watching the face-crosses, the peasants, then krupnonogie lovers. Images of Malevich's work as supporting elements recognizable as symbols of holding the expressionistic composition. In some works the vanguard characters dominate too much, forcing a deliberate rejection of a certain autonomy. But it is worth recalling that the exhibition is conceived as a greeting to a suspended 100-year anniversary of the Russian avant-garde. Sitting as the festive table, more appropriate to say a toast in plain language, and not show an excess of rhetoric and desire to surpass celebrant.
