Zaretsky Viktor Ivanovich (1925-1990)
Ukrainian painter, worked in the field of easel and monumental painting. Born in Belopole, Sumy region. In 1947 - 1953 he studied at the HIC (in HX USSR Grigoryeva). In 1953 - 1957 he taught painting at the HIC. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1956, was awarded the State Prize of Ukraine. Shevchenko.

The painting was done after the tragic death of the artist's wife Alla Highland.
Donated by T. Vashchenko byvschey then deputy first secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Ukraine Shcherbitsky, by ideology. If necessary, may confirm the authenticity and the artist's son, AV Zaretsky.
