The retrospective of Louise Bourgeois at the Guggenheim Museum
70 years of creativity After the Tate Galleries and the Center Pompidou Guggenheim Museum opened the largest exhibition of all, ever devoted to the sculptor Louise Bourgeois. Over 70 years of his creative life Bourgeois tried her in all styles of avant-garde, from surrealism to abstract expressionism and post-minimalism, not forgetting the Ready-made, rather than getting none. She - the author of numerous graphics, paintings, performances, installations, but the most interesting part of her work is her sculpture, which she used a wide variety of materials, and for which she has developed a complex symbolic "dictionary" that rested on her autobiography. Exhibition at the Guggenheim that is helping to decipher the symbols. Louise Bourgeois was born in Paris in 1911 to paint beginning with 11 years in the early 30's. admitted to the College of Fine Arts. In 1938 she married the art historian Robert Goldwater and moved to the United States. On her first solo exhibition in 1945 was exhibited only her paintings. The first sculpture appeared in 10 years. In the early 90's. Bourgeois turns to elastic materials - rubber and liquid gypsum, from which she creates biomorphic works representing the body, real or fantasmatic. One of the central motifs in her work becomes a spider. In his 97 years, Louise Bourgeois is one of the central figures of modern art. Its themes - femininity, loneliness, childhood. Actually, no, I can and take no hand in disgust. But, in truth, insects in general do not like, but treat them well tolerated as a fact.
In my opinion, the desire to depict something that sort, which is clearly a great many will not like, this is the desire to outrageous. And this, in turn, reflects an unwillingness or inability to express themselves more harmonious way. |
