Large-scale exhibition of Belarusian vanguard opens in Minsk

21 - April 23, 2014 in Minsk opens contemporary art exhibition "Avant-gARTe. From the square to the object ." The exhibition will take place at three sites and show the evolution of the Belarusian vanguard from the early twentieth century to the current time .

The first time in a single exposure , " One Hundred Years of the Belarusian vanguard " gather works underground, non-conformism , with avant-garde of the 1910s to the 1990s .

Exposition of Contemporary Art "Avant-gARTe. From the square to the object ," which opens in the building on the Avenue of Winners , 14, will cut the vanguard of modern Belarusian , collecting paintings, graphics , sculpture, arts and crafts , art objects , design and photography as well as the best art projects of the last ten years. This gives you the opportunity to see the creative dynamics of Belarusian art in the XXI century .

The exhibition will involve contemporary artists from all regions of Belarus , young artists , as well as entire projects : " postulate " ( design interpretation of the image of the chair ) , " H20 " ( creative thinking in different techniques and genres theme the role of water in human life ) , " techno-Art " ( includes directions of contemporary art that have a technical component ) , the Belarusian pavilion , who participated at the Moscow Biennale , " Tapografika " (interpretation of the 14 artists image slippers ) .

The exhibition will take place at three sites :

1. Draft for a wide audience "Avant-gARTe. From the square to the object " will be located in the Exhibition Hall of the prospectus of Winners , 14; Opening - 21 April at 18.00. Visitors can get an idea about the new forms and current trends in contemporary art.

2 . Draft " One Hundred Years of the Belarusian vanguard " opens in Museum of Modern Art on April 22 at 18.00 . The project will present the avant-garde association of the twentieth century , the work of nonconformist artists . Based on the different collections ( private and public) project captures the diversity of art of this period . This kind of attempt to build a chronology and present avant-garde association of the twentieth century , to interpret the notion of the avant-garde as an integral part of the Belarusian art .

3 . Draft " The artist and the city . BelART.by" - open area on Yakub Kolas . Opening on April 21 at 18.00 . Yakub Kolas Square in Minsk for the third time to open an exhibition of reproductions of the project " Artist and the City . BelART.by", representing the direction of "Pablic-art" - art in public space . This year it is dedicated to the Belarusian artists and will present paintings and drawings from the collection of local authors of the Museum of Modern Arts.

The exhibition will run till June 10 and be accompanied by lectures, art and cultural studies , seminars , workshops , documentary film screenings , theater performances , concerts , demonstrations, avant-garde fashion designers and collections Belarusian weekly meetings with Belarusian artists.

Since the beginning of the twentieth century, many Belarusian cities , especially Vitebsk and Minsk, served as a laboratory of art. Artistic avant-garde manifested in art, architecture , design , music, theater and cinema. He influenced the whole life style of the twentieth century . Formal and imaginative quest that manifested themselves in the works of Belarusian underground in the 1960-1970 's and young artists in the 1980-1990 's, formed the basis of modern Belarusian art , expanded its genre and the visual spectrum , promoted the development of the experimental areas of creativity, synthesis of various art forms . Works by contemporary Belarusian authors in direct connection with the avant-garde of the twentieth century , thus , are included in the global context of the space of European culture.
