Pilot Alexander was born in 1947 in Khakassia, and six years later moved with his family to the city of Krasnoyarsk Krai Achinsk. In this town the artist's childhood. So far, he says his countrymen, strange, "Filonov," he said characters, sullen-looking, but open and sincere, so unlike the inhabitants of large cities.

It first appeared in Achinsk passion for art, the young man began to attend a local art studio, and then decided to enroll in the Krasnoyarsk art school. School was followed for three years in the Army, and in 1971, the young artist, along with a companion went to Leningrad. Friends come in a strange, unfamiliar city, known to them in the Hermitage album, on postcards with views of the city, in which there was no friends, no relatives. Followed by years of training by correspondence at the Repin Institute, attending lectures at the History Department of the University of Leningrad, long days spent in the Hermitage and the Russian Museum. In those years, he admired the work of Petrov-Vodkin, Nesterov, artists of the first half of the XX century: Lentulova, Tatlin, Kuprina Filonov. According to the artist, was a period when he came to the Russian museum just to look at the "Great vows" Nesterov, walked through all the halls, he stayed by his side, stood a long time and then leave.

Over time, a new circle of friends and acquaintances. Alexander Pilot harmoniously joined to the cultural life, to feel involved all event. It has been a naive delight of the beauty of the embankments and avenues shown in the first landscapes ripe willingness to rethink its aesthetics, to express their attitude to the subject. Entered a new stage in the serious work. In the 1980s, began an informal exhibition activities of the creative association Association of Experimental Fine Arts, from that time the artist began to actively participate in exhibitions held in the country, and after the collapse of the Soviet Union - and abroad, who introduced him to the art of foreign collectors.

In the nineties a relationship with Pushkin-10, the first art center, spontaneously appeared in the city and, after a while, the officially recognized authority. Pushkin was, and still is home to many artists. A cohesive creative brotherhood, united under one roof, has helped to solve the problem of the workshop.

However, urban life has not been able to completely subdue the pilot. And now he is in search of excitement every year he traveled around the country, where, having escaped from the noisy crowded streets can safely work on landscapes. Landscape remains a favorite genre painter. "For me the most important thing in the picture - it's color, composition, harmony of colors, stains that give this beautiful musical chord, intuitive coming from the track sound and mood," says the artist about his work.
