Gleb Gavrilenkov
Born in 1982 in Leningrad, USSR
1995 started to draw graffiti with a group of street artists in St. Petersburg
1996 While studying at a private school King Edwards School in England took classes in painting and sculpting. First participated in an art exhibition
2004 After 5 years of studying economics at St. Petersburg State University decided to devote all his time to painting and the study of environmental processes and internal reality
2005 created a series of abstract photos using old LOMO camera to examine the interplay of light and visual perception system. I tried to work in a variety of styles: photography, graffiti, object, painting, drawing, video
2006 I started working with oil and concentrated on the ideas of abstract expressionism
2007 Was visiting artists' studios in different countries, where he studied history and different techniques of abstract painting. Became interested in issues of visual perception of space. Arranged the workshop in the heart of St. Petersburg, where he created his first series of papers on the subject. Began to cooperate with foreign galleries and private dealers
2008 participated in the exhibition "Air" held at the Loft Project "Floors" in St. Petersburg. Curator Irene Kuksenayte
Abstract paintings began to write exclusively in oils.
2009 Took part in a group exhibition "Space of Silence" at the "Red Flag", which introduced the 7 works from the series "The simplest space" and did the installation "Processor". The curator Anastasia Shavlokhova.
Participated in a number of small creative activities.
2010 show series of abstract works, executed with oil in the gallery «Mocher» in Paris. Began collaborating with the gallery «Bruce Lurie Gallery», Los Angeles.
Once again started to work with clay, exploring the principles of a way to consciousness and its relation to the "real" object. Initiated the development of new techniques of abstract oil painting.
2011 participated in the exhibition with the works are in private collections in Rome, from the series "The point - it's not the end" and "Speech and language perception of the universe"
He took part in the 2012 Miami Art Basel fair. Private show of 10 works in Tbilisi, Georgia.
2013 Performance at the museum Erarta exhibition "Crosses". Curator Artem Magalashvilli. Submissions to the LA Art Fair.
