Created the first art fund, whose task will be collecting Russian and Soviet paintings, drawings and sculptures, exported outside Russia, including after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, told RIA Novosti its founder, businessman and philanthropist Andrew Filatov.

"Our goal - to make these works available to a wider audience, to promote this important period in Russian art, to promote awareness of the international audience through participation in exhibitions of works for the exhibition, the publication of books on key artists and works. Art Fund intends to purchase a family Filatovs annually from ten to twelve works of art, created in the period c 1917 to 1991, which would allow the fund to become a point of reference for the study of the art of the period. Objective of the Fund to make these works, many of which for decades were among the "lost", available to the public in order to promote a better understanding of the importance and skills of artists of post-revolutionary Russia. "Russian and Soviet art of the twentieth century is underestimated from the artistic point of view on the international level, although in the period 1917-1991 in the USSR's artists worked, not inferior to their Western counterparts in strength and scope of creative talent. Created fund focused on the collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures this period, searching for jobs that were abroad, mainly after 1991, "- he explained.

The fund has already bought for homecoming sculpture layout "Worker and Collective Farm Girl" by Vera Mukhina, still life "Daisies" and Nikolai Fechin painting "Letter from the Front" Alexander Laktionova. For the original painting "Letter from the Front" laktionov in 1948 he was awarded the Stalin Prize. Original on display at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and never left its limits. Acquired painting was commissioned by Joseph Stalin to demonstrate the superiority of the Soviet of the Union of Artists of skill and participation in various international exhibitions (1950 to 1970).

It will ensure the international art market in search of opportunities to acquire works that will increase the artistic and the commercial value of the collection.
