"The idea of the project is very simple - people coming together to do something extraordinary and unpredictable" - told Gromli, known for his extraordinary projects.

One of his works - 20-meter sculpture of a man with outstretched wings called "Angel of the North" - in the past ten years, dominates the surrounding area of the English city of Newcastle.
Arrangement "One and the other" has been approved by Mayor Boris Johnson, the British capital. "This is a great example of how people come to art, but art comes to people. A very public display of democracy in action", - said the London mayor.
"One and the other" replace the fourth plinth sculpture of colored glass German author, Thomas Schutte, who is standing there with November 2007.
Prior to that, within two years there was 13-ton white marble statue depicting the famous English artist with a disability Alison Lepper.
The fourth plinth empty since the opening of the ensemble in Trafalgar Square in its present form in 1841. In three other pedestals rise massive statues - two generals of the XIX century and King George IV. Fourth place was intended for the monument to King William IV, but after his death for the installation of the monument did not have enough funds, and the plinth remained empty for many years.
