Hugh Wilhelm Schaufler was born in 1928 In 1954 he graduated from the department of architecture building faculty of the Ural Polytechnic Institute. SM Kirov. He is a member of the Union of Architects of Russia, a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine and Crimea, a member of the Academy of Russian Germans, Crimea, the doctor of architecture, the winner of prizes of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. In 1970 he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor". He has implemented 40 projects in the Urals and Western Siberia, the Crimea, more than 100 scientific papers. Since 1996, the architect-artist lives and works in Germany.
