Egiz Boris ( Baruch ) Mandelshtam (1869 - 1947)
Russian painter, graphic artist salon portraits, genre scenes , landscapes . Born in Odessa in the family of the Karaites , a hereditary honorary citizen . In 1886 - 1890 he studied at ORSH ( with K. Kostandi ). In 1890 he entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts ( studied under Pavel Chistyakov ). In 1893 he left the Academy of Fine Arts , received the title neklassnogo artist. He attended the Academy Julian and Colarossi in Paris. He was a member of the Odessa Society of Fine Arts , was a board member and secretary of TYURH . He taught in secondary schools in Odessa. In 1917 , together with K. Kostandi was elected representative in Odessa TYURH Union employees of the plastic arts . From 1920 he lived and worked in Constantinople in 1929 - in Paris in 1930 - in Vilna.
