At the end of 2011 on Nevsky Prospect in St. Petersburg began to notice a little chudlivogo old man, who was sitting on the chair, crossing his legs, something hard loomed with an enigmatic smile on his face. He tore his eyes only to look at the people who stopped to stare at his pictures, or just put the money in his box, and always with gratitude, with a smile and sparkling eyes, accompanied each eye. Passing by, we can not stop because of his work were forced to think about. They are - amazing how he is. In St. Petersburg, a lot of different artists, who sit and draw on the avenue, but this was different and attracted great attention of passersby. And I passed by, always paid, on account of his wonderful graphic compositions, which he draws a plain colored pencils, and passed threw him some money. But as time passed, and, more recently, I learned that proves he has no home, and he slept in the front on the landing, and lived only by sold works, which, unfortunately, not often buy.
Very pleased about the fact that there were young people who have not passed by and started to help the artist. They opened a page on social networking sites help (http://vk.com/lyashkevich_art), was taken off the street and for money to send people who rented him a house and help with whatever they can. If anyone is interested in the history of his life, you can type in a search engine "Artist Valery Lyashkevich," there are many people write about him.

He has long studied and lived in Russia. Tried to go to the Academy of Fine Arts named. Repin, but it did not work, and then he got a job there as a janitor. Working at the Academy drew a lot. But then he was fired, leaving home and work. Many wandered through Russia, and at the end of '90 returned home to Belarus, where, as it turned out, none of his remaining relatives can not wait. So he stayed on the street. More than 10 years he lived in grand houses in the town of Gomel. And even became a hallmark of the city. He was known by many in the city and, according to information from the Internet are bored by it. A year ago the Belarusian authorities he was deported from the country, as on the passport he was a citizen of Russia. And the reason is that the authorities of Gomel do not need in a homeless Russian who, moreover, draws on political topics. For a year he was in St. Petersburg. I talked to him on May 1. He was, as always, sat and drew. I bought him a reproduction of his work, talked to a couple of hours. Valery - an extraordinary man. He, in fact - the personification of love and kindness. Take care of it, Lord!
And thanks to all the people who are not indifferent as to his work, and to himself.
