Mstislav Dobuzhinsky. "Family Album" Gallery "on Lenivke"

From March 28 until May 31 at the gallery "In Lenivke" (Moscow, ul. Lenivka, 6/7) will host an exhibition of one of the most prominent artists of the first half of XX century, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky. It will debut a series (more than 200 works), united under the name "Family Album".

Unknown archive of one of the founders of the early XX century aesthetics, a member of the legendary association "World of Art" - restores more than twenty years of history Dobuzhinsky: portraits of his wife, children, drawings of home interiors. With the always recognizable by the grace shown to them and the country's big events: the First World War, a fracture in 1917. Dobuzhinsky Collection, which has appeared in the collection of the gallery "In Lenivke" never exhibited either in Russia or in France, many years have kept the legacy of the artist. But it could carry only a small number of small works. The history of this archive is closely connected with the formation of Russian Museum abroad. Art is its value primarily in that it consists of works created in the brightest period of the artist, the period of his membership of a union of "World of Art". M.V.Dobuzhinsky could not leave the pre-war Prague because he never lived there. And he could not correspond with the N.Zaretskim decades, because the first letter of Zaretsky with information about the archive was in early 1946, and in the late 40th Zaretsky moved to Paris, and no relation to the archive no longer had as left its deposit in the Slavonic Library in the Czech Republic. In a letter dated March 22, 1950, he complains that since the end of 1948 does not receive a response from the Dobuzhinsky. It turns out that their correspondence about the archive lasted from early 1946 until the end of 1948, ie about 3 years. Yes, and it was originally part of the archive (family portraits), there was not retained in connection with the creation of the museum, and much later, in 1944 was deposited Zaretsky Vsevolod Mstislavovich Dobuzhinsky (youngest son) because he was in a camp for displaced persons and there was not safe to store the archive.

Lorart, I'm not saying that Dobuzhinsky never been to Prague. I meant that he lived there , how ever long. Hence the phrase

sounds correctly , and can be completely misunderstood . He did not leave Prague 's personal archive . At the request of the founders of the museum , he has provided a number of his theatrical works , and graphics. Later in 1944, Zaretsky was deposited Dobuzhinsky family archive , and are taken from the gallery exhibited "At Lenivke " portraits of family members. Perhaps , years later some of these combined into a single unit .
And what about the several productions in Prague, you say? There was a production of " Eugene Onegin" in 1937 . In the early 30s was an attempt to another setting , but it was never implemented. That's all I know about the work of Czech theater.

"Family Album" makes for a fresh look at the usual manner of Mstislav Valeriano. Moreover, the archive is quite unexpected, and conjures thoughts about today's art. In a similar pragmatism, of course, are their reasons, but some of the basic setup for this inevitable weathered.
