Annie Leibovitz at the Pushkin

At the Pushkin Museum opened an exhibition of American photography legend Annie Leibovitz. These photographs have been exhibited in Berlin, London, San Francisco, Vienna, New York, St. Petersburg, and now they can be seen in Moscow.
The exhibition is called "Annie Leibovitz. Life Photographer 1990-2005." About 200 photos taken during these 15 years. Feature of the exhibition is that the author decided to show not only the photos related to professional activities, but also pictures from his personal life. Next to the portrait of Scarlett Johansson hang pictures of parents and children Leibovitz.

Annie Leibovitz (born 1949) since the early 1970s, is part of American popular culture. So began her career at a young publication, devoted to rock music, "Rolling Stone". She has collaborated with the magazine for over 10 years - first as a freelance photographer and then as chief photographer. During his work in the journal Annie did a lot of great and original portraits of famous musicians, period. The most famous was the portrait of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, taken December 8, 1980 for a few hours before the death of the musician. In 1983, Leibovitz went to work in the magazine "Vanity Fair", where he continues to work primarily in the genre of portraiture. In 1991 she had her first solo exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, which was then in 6 years has been shown in Europe, America and Asia. Susan Sontag, a friend and companion Leibowitz, influenced her life and work. The death of Sontag in 2004 to some extent, provided the impetus for the creation of this exhibition.
As she told Leibovitz at the opening of this exhibition for it is very important. She lost her Susan's father, gave birth to three children.
"After the death of Susan, I thought that I do not have it any good pictures. But when I began to see the photo archives, I realized that records the history of the (great history), that builds a lifetime." This inspired her to create such an exhibition, where she showed the "human life" through the prism of his "life of the photographer."
