    GLORY OF WORK

    History of representation of labor, as an independent subject, can be traced almost to the point of actual art - evidenced by cave paintings of "hunters" and "collectors". Images of work, one way or another, lived in all epochs - in ancient Egyptian murals and bucolic idyll, a peasant Bruegel, Millet and van Gogh; working Pimenov and Leger, and today it can be "office surrealism" Pilson or "robot manager" Torimitsu .

    However, when discussing the exhibition "homage" the participants following the meeting was declared theme of the eighth season, the first reaction was bewilderment. It would seem, for which modern authors propose a task that was once an indispensable "obyazalovke? Many remember how the "theme of labor is literally haunted the artist, starting at school up to participate in the reporting shows, and as visual tools, and put the emotions were strictly regulated.

    Separates us from those times the distance in twenty years - during that time has managed to place several shifts of cultural codes and re-evaluation of artistic heritage. Many of the «pro» and «contra» became the subject of history - especially for a new generation, already sufficiently detached from the "Soviet reality". Technology of the postindustrial society is not simply changed the world of work and interpersonal relationships, they practically created a new reality in which many of the "accursed questions" require rethinking.

    Attitude to work - an important marker of the processes occurring in society, one of the most important existential issues. Where economists and political thinkers run into "endless dead ends," only art can intuitively if not find the right path, they might catch the weak current of fresh air, indistinct, lying outside the usual position hint at the continuation of the movement, which is why we decided to choose a the theme for our spring exhibition
    In the name of the project by chance no punctuation - so we want to draw attention to the need for different, possibly contradictory statements and intonations. As with all previous "session" - a showcase laboratory that we want to make the most diverse.

    Here are some questions buyout, we would like to ask the participants:
    Is there anyway to place the poetics and art in the modern labor relations?
    Are we freed from the "allergy" to the image of labor as part of the Soviet ideologies?
    What is a work in modern society, which he - a creative, Sisyphus or monkey?
    Actually there an escape from civilization "to work on the ground"?
    What is work and what work - if they always identical?
    Who he is - a hard worker post-industrial economy? Office plankton or an intellectual, which owns technology?
    The artist - who are you? Laborer of the art industry, a manufacturer of luxury goods, or is still someone who stands above the relations of production? Who is your employer? What do you serve?

    The planned exhibition timed to coincide with International Workers' Day on May 1.
    It is proposed to arrange a discussion with the artists, philosophers, sociologists and politicians.
