One of the oldest Kiev painters Moses Faybovich Gantman belongs to a generation of artists who came to the Ukrainian art in the late 40-ies of XX century. The life and career of the artist can not be called simple and easy, quite the contrary. His fate is inseparable from the hard times of war. The proximity of death, the ruthlessness of war taught to value life in all its manifestations and to cherish every moment, trying to live full, meaningful, giving the fate of the donated works of years.
       Gantman Moses was born in the far already in 1922 in a large Jewish family in the village Dukora in Belarus.

Pimonenko Cherkassky, who advised and helped to enter the first year of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in the specialty film artist. Years of study in one of the most fundamental and democratic at the time the center of the artistic education of the USSR (1943-1949 gg.) He considers one of the most vivid in his life. He was lucky with the teachers, who were outstanding artists: painting, Academician Pyotr Ivanovich Kotov and corresponding member of the Academy of Fine Arts Professor Fedor Semenovich Bogorodsky.
