Okas Ewald Karlovic [p. 15 (28). 11. 1915, Tallinn], a Soviet painter and graphic artist, People's Artist of USSR (1963), corresponding member AH the USSR (1962). She teaches at the Art Institute in Tallinn, the Estonian SSR (1944, Professor since 1954). For painting and drawing OA is characterized by accuracy and sharpness of typing, dramatic narrative, the dynamics of compositional and textural techniques. State Prize of the Estonian SSR (1947, 1948, 1950, 1959, 1965). Symbolic figure in the Estonian art of the 20 th century.
