The story of how an artist from Moscow with Georgian names painted Armenia.

            In September, 2010 by artist Boris Kocheyshvili with his friends visited the wonderful country of Armenia. Led our group architect Cyril Fomin (grandson of the famous architect Ivan Fomin). Background is as follows: when CF was a boy, he lived in Armenia for paternal grandfather, also an architect of Mikhail Kalashnikov. This most Mikhail Kalashnikov was in at that time (1946-1950s years.) Otryazhen Soviet authorities to find and obmeryat all architectural monuments in Armenia, and then ceremonially hoisted on their plates "monument of architecture. Protected by the state.             Many years passed, and Cyril Fomin decided to repeat (if possible) that route, gathering a small group of architects, artists and other interested persons, and visit both the famous and lesser-known architectural monuments and beautiful places of the country of Armenia.      During the entire trip Boris Kocheyshvili constantly drew. He painted what surrounded him. And as he was surrounded by mostly men - the other tourists and local residents, it turns out that most people he painted. One of the strongest impressions from the trip - a cross-stones , ie, tombstones . They are - everywhere . In the form of debris underfoot , in the old churchyard . The earliest almost one and a half thousand years ... covered with colorful lichens , are the examples of virtuosic relief of stone . Stories - from the most common ornamental cross , before the domestic scenes with hunters and peers , as well as the amazing " aliens " Sketches of the people - a circle for a head , a rectangle - the body and always two legs in opposite directions. These same khachkars appear now and in the Moscow papers of Boris Kocheyshvili .
