Forecast: average real wages in Russia will fall in 2009 to 2,7%
  Real disposable monetary incomes of the population of Russia fell in December 2008 to 11,6%compared with December 2007, a source said yesterday in one of the departments of finance and economic bloc with reference to the Federal State Statistics Service data. In general, for 2008 the real incomes of the population of Russia grew by only 2.7%after rising 12.1%in 2007. Growth in real wages in the whole of 2008 amounted to 9,9%(compared with growth on 17,2%in 2007), but in December there was a decrease of 2.0%. As reported, Ministry of Economic Development in mid-January, revised the outlook of Russia's economy in 2009. In the updated scenario of Russia's Economic Development Ministry predicts this year's decline in average real wages in Russia in 2009 to 2,7%. In the previous forecast of the Ministry is expected to increase real wages in 2009 to 0,8%. According to a new forecast of the Ministry, the average salary in 2009 in nominal terms, around 19 thousand 043 rubles. (c)
