Artist Santiago Rusinol i Prats





Spanish painter, poet and playwright, was a leader of the Catalan modernism movement.Born in Barcelona in 1861 , in a family of textile industrialists. Despite the fact that he was the heir of the family, as a teenager showed a strong interest in painting.
His experience as an artist began at the Center of Barcelona watercolors under the guidance of Tomas Moragas. Like many artists of the time , he went to Paris in 1889, he lived in Montmartre with Ramon Casas and Ignacio Zuloaga. Much of his work in Paris can be attributed to the symbolism. At that time, he also attended Gervex Academy, where discovered modernism.

Upon returning to Spain created in Sitges Museum shop Cau Ferrat.
